Rod Labrador

Dr. Rod Labrador is Assistant Professor of Ethnic Studies at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. His scholarly interests and publications examine race, ethnicity, culture, migration, and diaspora among Filipinos in Hawai‘i and the U.S. From 2000-2008, he served as the Director of UH-Mānoa GEAR UP (Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs), a college access program that works in the Farrington School Complex.

Aurelio S. Agcaoili

Aurelio S. Agcaoili, PhD., is a faculty member of the Indo-Pacific Languages and Literatures Department of the University of Hawai‘i. He also coordinates the University’s Ilokano and Philippine Drama and Film Program. He has been an associate of the Institute of Creative Writing, University of the Philippines, VP and Secretary General of GUMIL Filipinas. He was also the founding President of KAGURO. He specializes on Ilokano and Amianan studies.

Laurie Luczak

Laurie Luczak was born and raised in Hawai‘i on the island of Oahu. Both parents immigrated to Hawaii in 1959, from the Philippines and provided Laurie with multiple experiences between the Local, Immigrant, and non-Filipino communities. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and a Master Degree in Education at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. Prior to teaching she worked in the private sector for a few of insurance brokerage homes and companies. While at UHM, working on her MEdT degree, she became involved with GEAR-UP 2006, working with students at the Farrington Complex. After completing her degree, Laurie continued to work at the Complex by becoming a teacher at Farrington High School. Arts and Communication Core Pathway (ACCP) and Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) were her main areas of instruction during the past seven years. Now entering her eighth year at Farrington, she will continue to be the AVID Site Coordinator as well as the 9^th Grade Hale Coordinator. Her main areas of interests are assessment and curriculum.

Theodore S. Gonzalves

Theodore S. Gonzalves is an Associate Professor of American Studies at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. He is the author of The Day the Dancers Stayed: Performing in the Filipino/American Diaspora (Temple University Press, 2009) and Stage Presence: Conversations with Filipino American Performing Artists (Meritage Press, 2007). At UH Mānoa, Professor Gonzalves has cross listed courses with the Department of Ethnic Studies and is affiliated with the Center for Philippine Studies and the International Cultural Studies Program. Tessaley Antone

Tessaley Antone is graduate of University of Hawai‘i, certified in Elementary Education. This is her 13th year as a teacher and has served all 13 years at Kalihi-Kai Elementary in the Farrington Complex. Since working at Kalihi-Kai she has served in a variety of roles ranging from regular education classroom teacher, facilitator (curriculum coordinator), and mentor teacher. As a facilitator, her primary role was working with grade level teams to develop, implement and assess standards-based curriculum, as well as, planning and facilitating faculty professional development. Currently as teacher mentor, her responsibilities include mentoring all second and third grade teachers individually and planning and facilitating faculty professional development.

Felicia M. Flores

Felicia M. Flores, is a Ford Foundation Degree Fellow, taking M. Ed in Curriculum Studies at the UH-Mānoa. She is a teacher at the Antique National School, in Antique, Western Visayas, Philippines. She is a founding member of Paranubliun-Antique, a cultural non-government organization, that actively work towards the revival and preservation of Kinaray-a art and culture.
